My name is Brittany Spencer, and I started Home Plate Accounting to help my community at the individual and small business level. I have been inspired by entrepreneurship my entire life. I have been working since 2010 to build a foundation of skills, core values and resources to give me the chance to share my knowledge and efficiency with others.
My grandfather Al Beavers has been a tax preparer since 1974 and I have been fortunate enough to work alongside him for the last 10 years while completing my accounting degree, working full time in the property management industry and starting my family.
I am not your normal accountant. You won't find me in a suit or on the golf course talking about stocks and interest rates with no personality. You will see me in my jeans coaching my kids’ sports, wrapped up in a community event, or serving Phyllis Burgers at Beavers Field to spend time with my family. I have a hard-working blue-collar husband, a feisty 10-year-old girl and an ornery 7-year-old boy that keep me on my toes.
I have found my strengths are the ability to explain organization, taxes and small business bookkeeping to the average person. I want to be a resource for people to call about financial questions and not feel stupid to ask. If I don’t know something I will be sure to do the research to help provide all options available in every situation.
I hope to give people peace of mind that taxes don’t have to be dreadful. Paperwork can be easily managed, and up-to-date financials can be a decision-making tool to help create a successful business.
